This page is not dog related but would like to help anyone in the computer world with some tricks and tips. Also find some free software here that can help you out in your pocket book (so you can buy more dog stuff) If you have any questions or need some friendly assistance before you get taken advantage of at a tech shop...please contact me and i will help in any way I can. First and most important is antivirus programs to keep your computer safe and secure. I have found a great one called Twister and it was developed initially by the government of China. The Chinese believe in paying only once for any kind of software unlike here in the states. I personally used Norton for years at a tune of over $40/yr. Twister is $29.99 for lifetime and can be transferred to any computer. The best part is you can try it for free for 90 days with full features...that is how confident they are in their product. Click here to go their website and download. I know there are free programs out there...but you get what you pay for in antivirus protection.. Sad truth is that some antivirus companies develop and introduce viruses so the general public has to buy their product....only in America !!! Next link is from a couple guys whom rock. Click here for their webpage . If you are a serious geeker you must get their boot-able CD which has every tool on it to troubleshoot and repair...called Hiren's Bootable CD. It has personally helped me save friends hundreds of dollars in recovery etc.
If you are not to computer literate I suggest to at least download these 4 programs and use them frequently to keep your computer running efficiently. First up is Cleanup by Stephen Gould. This cleans all your temporary files and i run it daily and you will be amazed at how great this works. Next is CCleaner which does the same but also has other tools as internet cache cleaning...registry fixes etc. Defraggler is a powerful defraggmenting tool for your hard drive. Even though Micro$oft has a decent one with all their Windows programs , this one blows it away. Lastly is a cool tool called revo uninstaller which is great for removing any programs. What is great is that it will remove all files associated with whatever program you are deleting. Most people use the "control panel" "add/remove programs" which only deletes the program on the surface where as revo goes into the registry so files can not resurface or clog up much needed disk space. All these basic programs are part of the Hirens bootable CD. If you are a DVG member and want a copy of the Hirens Cd I will be more than happy to burn one for you.
If you are a club member and need assistance I can remotely fix your computer as long as you are able to connect to the internet.....all I ask is to give a donation to the club. If you have problems loading all the above stuff i will help you there also. I just want to see people utilize the information highway and all it has to offer without going broke in this already doggy dog world. I constantly see customers of mine getting raped by money greed strucken computer techs...not cool.
